Random Tuesday Thoughts

1. My son, who is 7, is in the Little League Championship Game and I am WAY excited about it. I know it's all about having fun at this age, but I get so nervous when there are 2 outs and he is up to bat!!! I don't know why....he is a great hitter but I just can't stand it!!

2. I absolutely DESPISE mosquitos. I don't care where the fall on the food chain or the circle of life, I just really HATE them!!!!

3. I have a serious addiction.....Bejeweled Blitz on facebook. I have played two games already while writing this post. I thought the newness of the game would wear off but I find myself attempting to beat all of my "friends'" scores which is totally ridiculous.....I mean how can someone get 198,000 in ONE minute?!!!!

4. I also have OCD when it comes to my garden. I use my "weasel" everyday to attack the weeds. Weeds fear me!!! :o)

Baseball Playoff Mom

It's baseball playoff time in our household and I'm afraid that my competitive nature is coming out!!! I have a 7 year old and the entire season is devoted to learning the game and being good sports, etc.

We never keep score.

There are no "losers".....until playoffs. It's now double elimination.

First game was last night. We played a team that we could easily beat.

All of a sudden we find ourselves down by 6!!! We are bobbling the ball, over throwing the base and can't get a hit to save us. What!!??

I found myself more nervous that my son was up to bat than if it were me!!! On top of being behind we have dark clouds rolling in. It's the bottom of the 5th and we are down 13 to 10. We get a base hit, a double, another base hit and before you know it we pull ahead 14-13!!!! First strike of lightening was seen and the game was called!!! WOOT WOOT!!!! We advance to the winners bracket on Wednesday!!

You're Gonna Miss This

I attended my cousin's graduation ceremony this past week. It was held at the same high school I graduated from so it brought back a few memories from a few years ago. Their class song was "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins.

Time does fly by and they have no idea how much they are going to miss these days of being carefree. No mortgage payment, no property taxes due, no groceries to buy for the whole family. I wish all of the graduates good luck in their future because I don't envy anyone entering into the workforce during this economy!!!!
