Every kid does it....Right?!!??

My son did it when he was little and now my little girl has done it. It took us so long to grow her any hair at all and now she is butchin' it off!!!! We just had her hair trimmed last week and I should have seen it coming since she is into the mimicking/parrot stage of repeating and doing EVERYTHING you do and say. No reason to get upset, it will eventually grow back.

Hot for the Holidays Update....

This is really week four for the challenge, but we are slow to start since I just found the challenge this week. I have learned that I am NOT a stress eater. I guess that is a good thing. This week I received the electric bill and it was $722!!!!!!!!! WHAT?!? We didn't even run the air conditioner this month? So, I notice that it was estimated and I have never read my meter before, but I was going to learn real quick!!!! I instantly call the company and after being on hold I find out that there was a glitch in their new computer system and it could easily be adjusted, however, he needed to transfer me to that department. After being on hold for an hour and transferred 3 times, the lady answers and hangs up!!!! Anyway, it is being adjusted and will be down to our usual $80-$100. Needless to say, my anxiety was through the roof and I wanted nothing to eat (which I know is not good either, but I didn't have a choice!).

Other than that scare, I had made a conscience effort to eat healthier and walk a minimum of 1 mile a day. I am also making a much better effort to get in my 8 glasses of water a day. I think having the challenge makes me more accountable. I think that I will have weeks where I gain but this week I lost.........4 pounds!!!!!

Motivation: If you know me, you probably know my sister......she is gorgeous with not an ounce of fat on her.....I am not exaggerating. Anyway, her hobby is collecting clothes (she always has the latest trends, etc. ) and it usually takes me a season or two to accept the new trends!!!! So, she is moving into a new house and I was over there helping her organize and unpack and I scoped out her closet. She let me have a pair of jeans and cute shirt..........well, not so cute on me yet, but it will be!!! So, I am motivated to get into these jeans, while still breathing and to not have a "muffin top" showing through the shirt!!!!

Check out our friends at Baby Tea Leaves to find out how others did this week. How did you do?

Heads up on Some Coupons....

Lately, it seems that Walgreens is in business with Glade to see how many products they can sell!!!!! Whether you enjoy their smell or not, you may want to pay attention to some of their sales as sometimes you can make a profit and if you prefer not to use them, why not stick them in a stocking for the holidays? There is a new BOGO coupon on the left sidebar for printing.
Also, if you use toilet paper (hee hee), there is an Ultra Quilted Northern coupon also there and it is on sale until October 25th at Walgreens for $4 plus you can use the $1 off coupon found in the October Easysaver (also found at Walgreen's). I know from experience that these coupons reach their print limit fast and you don't want to be caught at a sale without a coupon!!!! We can Dream Can't We...

I received this in an email and thought it was too good not to share. This is one man's opinion on the government bailout and a possible alternative. His idea would get my vote!!!

I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it’ll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG – liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t. Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.” But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC . And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Pretty interesting huh?

Shining Light Fund

Losing a child has to be one of the hardest things to ever have to endure during a lifetime. I am thankful that I have not had to. However, I do know people that have and I thought of all of them when I came across the the Shining Light website. You can go to this site and request a FREE bracelet with specific birthstones to be used and they will ship it to you!!!! It was started by a women who lost her child a few years ago. I thought it was a great idea and wanted to share it with all of you.

Just a reminder that my dear friend Sue is raising money for her annual walk for Tomorrow's Child (an organization that helps people get through a loss of a child). I know times are tough, however, I truly mean it when $5 will make a difference. Here is the site you can go to, to see a picture of Sue's grandson, that she lost to SIDS and to see her progress. She is only $60 away from her goal!!! If you just can't afford to donate right now, that is okay, but I know Sue, and she would still love to show off her grandbaby!!!!!
