Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
We have BIG plans for this weekend..........NOT!!! Hubby is working and Jake has basketball practice. The kids and I are going to settle in with some movies and popcorn. So that is why I was THRILLED when I received my SWAP partners box of goodies!!!! Look at what Nina at Juggling Mama sent me!!!! I refuse to tell you how many Dove Milk Chocolate pieces were left after 24 hours!!!! Let's just say, I was not the only culprit!!!! Thank you Nina!!!!!
So, I want to know what HOT plans you have for this weekend?

You can check out more questions at An Island Life.

S.W.A.K. Bloggy Carnival.....My Hubby

I'm joining in on the Valentine's Carnival to let you ladies know that I got a good one.
We were high school sweethearts and have been together for 19 years!!!! I followed him while he was in the military helping to guard President Clinton. When he got out of the Marine Corps we were both ready to move back to Michigan. Two years later we started our family and I became a SAHM with his 100% support. He knew I would have a mental breakdown if I had to take our baby to someone else for 40 plus hours a week!!!
I always knew I had a good one.....loyal, sincere, hard working with morals and values. But I never knew how much I loved him, until I saw him love our kids.....
He is such a great daddy and would do anything for his wife and kids. That is why we work together through our disagreements.....because our family is worth it!!!
Join in the Carnival Fun at We Are That Family and I will come visit your site!!!

Edible Bling

Don't be jealous!!!! My 2 year old has discovered this gorgeous jewelry AND she can snack on it while she watches "Dowa" (Dora).

She is very proud of her new found discovery as you can see from this photo. She also has (had before she ate it) a matching bracelet which she refers to as her watch!!!
Don't just sit there.....go out and grab your own before they are all gone!!!

Monday Morning Meme....some Insight

It's time for some more fun with Write From Karen's Monday morning questions.

1. How many coats do you own? Do have a good coat? Casual coat? Summer jacket? etc. Do you wear coats very often? Or do you have a tendency to leave your coat at home whenever you go out? What is your favorite coat? Why is this one your favorite?
I have 5 jackets. One is a good jacket and the rest are casual. I do have a problem with leaving the house without my jacket. I have a car starter and go from my warm house to my warm car. My favorite coat right now is my black down jacket with a furry hood. You can zip the arms off to make into a vest and it was only $8.98 at Steve and Barry's!!!!!

2. You’ve learned a thing or two about this thing we call blogging. Tell us one thing you don’t recommend to other bloggers. Tell us one thing you do recommend to other bloggers.
I have only been blogging since August of last year. I guess the thing I wouldn't recommend to other bloggers is to post infrequently.....does that make sense? The thing I would recommend is to comment on everyone's blog that you visit.........we bloggers LOVE comments!!!!

3. Is cursive writing a lost art? Should good penmanship be taught? Tell us about your handwriting - good / bad? Do you think your children have good handwriting (given their appropriate age, of course).
There is really nothing special about my handwriting. It gets the job done. I can read my son's handwriting and he has improved significantly from 1st grade to 2nd.

4. Have you ever struggled with infertility? If you haven’t, or if it wasn’t the hardest thing you’ve ever had to go through — what was?
Well, our first child was like textbook conception. Our second however, took 20 months to conceive. Each month was a disappointment and should have had stock in pregnancy tests!!! I was lucky enough to never have a miscarriage. The hardest thing I had to do was give birth to my babies and then have them taken to the Special Care Nursery while we were in the hospital. We had to leave our first baby in the hospital for one night while we went home and I thought I was going to go insane. You don't go through a pregnancy, give birth and then come home without your baby!!!! But we survived and they are both healthy little stinkers!!!

Sunday Mish Mash....

Isn't it amazing what a little sunshine can do for your mood? We have been blasted with freezing temps, snow and wind all winter and it is crazy how warm 50 degrees can feel after a winter like that!!! You would have thought flowers were going to bloom this weekend. Everyone chipped in at our house and we did some MAJOR cleaning.....which made mama very happy and when mama is happy....everyone is happy!!!!!
So we popped into wal-mart for a few things the other day and they had SANDALS on their clearance aisle......for the whole family!!!! Spiderman, Dora and cute summery colors for $1 and $1.50!!!!!!! If you have kids you know how quickly they grow out of shoes and in our house, we notoriously lose sandals throughout the summer. I can guarantee you I won't be sad about losing a $0.50 sandal!!!! They had toys on clearance as well, but Target's were still cheaper.
We will be making Valentine's Day cookies for Jake's class party on Friday. I will probably have to walk an extra 2 miles this week because of it!!!
