Tuesday Tribute:

Jake: 7 yr. old son

Me: Mom, 30 something

Jake: Mom, I've got a question for you. Why do girls have babies and boys don't?

Mom: (thinking wtf is your father?) Well, you know how inside your belly you have your lungs and heart and liver?

Jake: yeah

Mom: Well, girls have an organ that boys don't have and that is called a uterus. This is where babies grow inside the mommy's belly and since boys don't have a uterus, you can't grow a baby. (Unless you are the guy that used to be a girl and didn't make the total change to a guy and still had his uterus.....but I didn't go into that detail!!)

Jake: Ohhh. So then they grow up, get married and then start growing babies?

Mommy: ummm, yep, that's what happens.

Slim Down Sunday

Today marks the first week of my official weight loss challenge. Treadmill and resistance workouts were completed 6 out of the 7 days. I am down 1/2 of a pound and have lost 2 inches total....one inch on my waist and one inch on my hips. My friend Vicki also lost 2 inches but is down 4.5 pounds!!!!! WAHOOO!!!! I have decided to continue with my routine and am adding the Shred Challenge over at Shrinking Jeans to it. I figure adding anything with Jillian to what I am already doing has to be good!!!!

Thousand Words Thursday

This is why I LOVE my job!!!! I get a fashion show every day....sometimes multiple times a day!!!! This day she was taking care of her baby and drinking her "foffee" (coffee)....did you notice she doesn't have a cup, but instead a pitcher of coffee? She cracks me up!!!

I had a great topic to write about today and it was even kind of funny. Then the day got away from me and I started surfing around to my favorite blogs. Sometimes I just need to read some refreshing everyday crap that somebody else is going through that makes me laugh (sometimes hysterically). That is why you will have to wait for my post to come next week and you really need to check out Jenni Jiggety's post today.

Steals, Deals, Motivation and WINNER!!

One of my friends called me this weekend and said she needed a "Jillian Michaels" to help her lose 15 pounds by June. My wheels started turning and I thought "I wouldn't mind losing 15 pounds by June either." So I figured it out to be 1.5 pounds per week as our goal. We started Sunday and weighed in and took our measurements. Each day we have to email each other our food diary and exercise for the day before. This really makes me think about what I put in my mouth when I know that I have to report it!!! AND if we GAIN on any given week, we have to put $5 per pound into a pot!!!!
